Hurricane Sandy Update: President Obama Signs New Jersey Emergency Declaration
KEANSBURG– In a press conference this afternoon, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie informed the citizens of the state that he had asked President Barack Obama to sign a New Jersey Emergency Declaration. At midnight Monday, Obama has officially signed it.
This will allow the state governors to request federal funding and other assistance ahead of the impending hurricane that is supposed to make landfall in New Jersey.
The storm is expected to hit southern New Jersey the hardest but everyone within a 500-mile radius of the storm will be effected.
